Delray Dunes has hosted a Pro-Am Golf Tournament every year since 1969. PGA Tour professionals participate in this event hosted jointly by Dunes resident and Senior Tour member Bob Murphy, and Laurie Hammer, director of golf. The Pro-Am has raised over $2 million for our local Bethesda Memorial Hospital. Notables who have played in the Pro-Am include Julius Boros, Fred Couples, Ben Crenshaw, Tom Kite, Davis Love III, Jack Nicklaus, Jerry Pate, Gary Player, Chi Chi Rodriguez, Jeff Sluman, Sam Snead, Dave Stockton, Lee Trevino, Tom Watson, Fuzzy Zoeller, Jackie Gleason, Dan Marino, Pete Rose and Dave Thomas. |
